Food Review – Thai Basil

Published March 18, 2012 by pinkpossibilities

If you are wanting to try some fantastic Thai food, this is the place to go.

Me and my spouse went and tried this place out today.

We give this Restaurant 4 Pink Pig Snouts

Located at: 12600 South 2778 West,  Riverton, UT 84065

(there is also one in cottonwood heights)

Type of Food: Thai Cuisine                      Serves Lunch & Dinner

Prices – $7.00 – $15.00  (our lunches were $7.50 each)

Decor & Atmosphere – Fantastic decor – reds & gold’s, fun gold wall when you first walk in, metal leaves on the wall, chalk elephant in-between an entry way (this is where they write their specials and other things). Music didn’t match atmosphere though.

Service: Fast, friendly and drink refills were plentiful.

Meal 1 – L3 Chicken Teriyaki – grilled chicken breast & house teriyaki sauce $7.50 comes with soup

Meal 2 – L6 *Thai Green Curry – green curry w/coconut milk, bamboo shoot, bell pepper, mushroom & basil. with this you get pot-stickers, white rice and soup with the options of meat: chicken, beef, tofu or shrimp $7.50

we both chose the egg drop soup – we both gave it 5 snouts (loved their soy sauce container, it was a cute little white ceramic deal that I would have loved to have taken home with me.)

Review on Meal 1 – Con’s – Chicken not tender enough, sauce more soy flavor than teriyaki, but the extra sauce they give you did taste more Teriyaki and was great. rice was a little mushy. Pro’s – Wonderful presentation/plating, good taste on the whole.

Review on Meal 2 – Con’s – None, Pro’s – presentation/plating, best pot-stickers I have ever eaten with great sauce, green sauce starts mild and ends in a spicy runner. rice was sticky and perfect for the dish.
