Food Review – Guadalahonkys

Published April 16, 2012 by pinkpossibilities

I would say this is the best Mexican food I have eaten since living in Utah.

We give this Restaurant 5 Pink Pig Snouts

Website: http://www.guadalahonkys.com/
Address: 136 East 12300 South Draper, UT 84020
(801) 571-3838

Type of Food: Mexican

Prices – $9.50 – $15.00

Decor & Atmosphere: Decor is authentic, fun and has a beachy vibe. They had straw hut overhangs over some of the booths. salt & pepper shakers were corona bottles. Booths were comfortable and roomy.

Service: Drinks were recceived quickly. It took about 15 minutes to even put in our order. But we did receive our meals within 30 minutes from sitting down.

Meal 1: Smothered chimichanga with ground beef and a side of chile relleno. Comes with spanish rice, refried beans and sour cream. $12.99

Drink: Raspberry Virgin Margaretta

Review Meal 1: Had chimichanga and chili relleno with green sauce. Good size portion, rice and beans cooked just right with good mild flavor. Two cooked peppers, red and green, garnished the plate. Peppers had amazing flavor and just enough nip, comparable to a banana pepper taste. the chimmi was great, thick and loaded with just the right amount of flavor. the chilli relleno had almost a tamale breading over it and just took away from the egg on the chilli. Less could have been more on this chilli relleno.

Review on Drink: Raspberry Virgin Margaretta was good size and nice taste of raspberry, but tasted more like a smoothie than a margarrita. P.S. make sure they charge you for the virgin and not the whole margarrita.

Meal 2: Fajitas – Served with fresh sauteed veggies. Spanish rice, refried beans, sour cream, guacamole, pica de gallo salsa and 3 warm tortillas $12.99

Review Meal 2: The meat was flavorful and tender, the veggies were green peppers, onions, squash and zucchini sauteed to perfection. I loved the whole plateful. My mouth was in food heaven throughout the entire meal.

Here are a couple shots from there Menu

I loved this shop. as you will see in my photos i went bling happy. I had so many packages i was up to my chin carrying them around.
they were selling self adhesive bling packs.
they had baskets galore of bling. these were normally $3.00 and they were selling them for $1.00.
let’s say i was a happy girl.
here are some photos from there booth.

this is some of my haul laid out on my table getting ready to be organized and put up.

so to organize my bling better i made piles of the same colors and by overlaying them one on top of the other. as shown

i placed a piece of tape over the overlap area and continued adding until i had a pack of them all taped together.

I grabbed some of my alligator clips

and one of my black grid walls

and using my alligator clips, clipped the packs onto the grid wall. this will make it so much easier to find the bling i want to use. instead of shuffling through a box of them. another craft project for my office. i love to be organized

How to Mend a Purse Strap

Published March 20, 2012 by pinkpossibilities

I bought a cute Orange purse 2 1/2 months ago and the straps are already tearing apart. I finally found time today to be able to mend it because I really like the purse and want to continue using it without worrying about it breaking on me while I am out.

Here is how my strap looked before:

I used DMC – F.75579 but in simpler terms Black thread. this kind of thread is thicker and is more like floss.

I started on one side of the tear and stitched to the other 🙂

Then to cover up the stitches and make it look purty again. I gathered a variety of black and orange-red buttons to stitch over the black thread.

I placed 2 orange-red buttons on each side

Then a bigger black button in the center. and there you have it a mended purse strap with a pretty result.
